

SFC Angel "Junior" Manuel Santos-Arguinzoni, age 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, April 15, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas after a 5 year long valiant battle with cancer. Juni was a proud military veteran having served his country in the US Army for 22 years retiring in 1999.
Junior was born in Cayey, PR on February 14, 1955, to parents Angel Santos Reyes & Maria Arguinzoni-Gonzalez. He excelled in his studies having earned an associate degree after graduating high school and went on to join the military. He traveled to various places around the world including Korea, Germany, Belize, and Hawaii to name a few.
Juni had a profound passion for music that he carried throughout his life. He loved to attend live music concerts and shows. His favorite genre of music was classic salsa and went onto have his own music groups Afro Yambu and Melaza playing the bongos, clave and as lead vocalist. Some of his favorite salsa artists were Hector Lavoe, Frankie Ruiz, Pete El Conde, El Gran Combo, Celia Cruz and Ismael Miranda. His love of music lead him to compose salsa music which was recorded by several popular artists. This lead him to be a popular composer for many new recording salsa artists today.
Junior was very proud of being Puerto Rican and spoke fondly about his beautiful "Isla de Encanto" Puerto Rico ensuring his family kept his culture and traditions. He championed for the rights of his countrymen being inspired by the works of Pedro Albizu Campos. He returned to his Borinquen and retired at his country home Kunta Kinte in Mayaquez, Puerto Rico.
Junior was a loving father to his two children: daughter Eidde and son Eddie Santos and proud grandfather to grandson Santino Santos. He will be fondly remembered by Milagros Santos along with his remaining siblings Efrain Santos-Arguinzoni, Nydia Santos-Arguinzoni, Betsy Santos-Arguinzoni, and Elliot Santos-Arguinzoni; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angel and Maria and brothers Eddie Santos-Arguinzoni & Jose Antonio Santos-Arguinzoni.
