It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anita R. Esparza, a graduate of Fox Tech High School in 1963, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many who passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, at the age of 81, in San Antonio, Texas.
Anita was born on October 15, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to Maria H. De Hoyos and Feliciano G. Ramirez. From a young age, she demonstrated a deep and unwavering love for her family—a love that only grew stronger as she became a mother and grandmother. As a grandmother those who knew Anita affectionately called her "Grandma," a title she wore with pride and grace. She was truly the heart and soul of her family, always ready to offer a helping hand, a warm hug, or a listening ear.
Anita was a loving mother who gave her all to support her children. She worked tirelessly to provide for them, instilling the values of hard work and determination. Her love and guidance laid a strong foundation, teaching them that with perseverance, they could overcome any challenge.
Anita’s nurturing spirit touched everyone she met. A talented cook and baker, she spent many years at a family-owned café on Josephine Street. Cooking for her loved ones was a true expression of her love.
In addition to her culinary skills, Anita was a gifted florist, creating beautiful arrangements with care and creativity. Her warm smile and kind nature also made her a cherished receptionist, beloved by everyone at the law office where she worked.
Anita was a devoted grandmother and her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. They will always cherish the rides in her “wagon” to practices and games, and her uplifting words, "You are the best!" Anita loved creating lasting memories on trips to Las Vegas, Belize, Disney World, and Port Aransas, teaching her family that time together was the greatest gift of all.
A loving mother and devoted grandmother, Anita was the true embodiment of selflessness and unconditional love. Anita’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her love and spirit will continue to inspire and guide those she left behind.
