'There are more memories than I can count of the family time with Aunt Nita. She was such an amazing woman and I can only hope that I might have inherited just a little bit of the traits that made her so special. My memories of the times our families got together are cherished and still bring laughs and smiles. I remember her smile and strength and I know she will be missed. I wish I could be there with you all.'

'Nita and I sang in the choir at First Methodist in Monroe for many years. We spent many wonderful choir retreats at Caney just before school started many years ago. She was a sweet lady with a positive attitude and a gentle soul. Her life was well lived and, Janet and Dean, I know you were always so proud of her.
We also played on the church softball team together. Fun times!'

'Anita Fleming, what a beautiful person and spirit. She was my advanced math I and II teacher and I will always be indebted to her. She always took special time out to help me anytime I needed it. I ended up as a career banker and she definitely had a huge influence in my life. I only regret that I never got a chance to tell her in person. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. 'I must agree with so many others about "Mrs. Fleming" bring my favorite teacher! She was such a positive influence on me and so many others during our high school years and longer. There were times, while in college, I would call her if I had any problems in my math classes, and other times just to visit, and she would gladly help! She was a very caring person and know she will be GREATLY missed. My sincere condolences to all of you!'

'She invested 3.5 years in me as a high school student. The fruit of her efforts were my testing out of all my required college math courses. She was the last math teacher I had ... and needed. Her firm discipline was offered with love and a focus on the long-view and best interest of us as students. She was both respected and loved by hundreds. How many times did we "go to the board" to demonstrate our mastery of a new skill or concept. And then there was that time when rather than being sent to the board, I was sent to the hallway! .... uh oh. Mrs. Fleming, you were one of a kind in the best kind of way. I am grateful for your life well-lived, your faithful commitment to excellence, and the legacy of your service and faith in Christ. Thank you.'

'I have many good memories of Nita. In Monroe, we enjoyed many a pie supper and cookout while visiting with family. When we lived in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, Nita also had a summer home there. She would sometimes bring my mother with her to visit. Nita and I enjoyed going to Garden Club. I will miss her.'
