She was an active parishioner in the establishment of St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in 1964. She faithfully attended the weekly Spanish Sunday 8 am Mass there for years and delighted them with her Mexican culinary delights every weekend. She was well known in the neighborhood for her yearly praying of the Holy Rosary and the celebration in her home on December 12th for OLOG with family and friends where she served her famous champurrado and sweet calabaza empanadas.
