Born on September 6, 1942, in San Antonio, she was the daughter of William Gideon and Lucy Ann (Miller) Dykman. Raised in a strong Christian home, Ann built her life upon that same unwavering foundation of faith. She loved Jesus wholeheartedly and remained devoted to Him through every season of life, trusting Him faithfully through both times of joy and times of hardship. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and the genuine love she freely shared with family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. She possessed a servant's heart that made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Many who were not related by blood lovingly considered her family because of the way she embraced and cared for others. She was a devoted prayer warrior, and those who asked for her prayers knew she fervently lifted them before the Lord.
Ann loved America with all her heart and carried a deep sense of gratitude for the freedoms and blessings she believed God had bestowed upon this nation. Her patriotism was woven into her daily life, reflected in the pride she took in displaying the American flag, honoring those who served, and celebrating the values of faith, family, freedom, and personal responsibility. She never took those blessings for granted and prayed faithfully for her country and its leaders, always hoping future generations would cherish and preserve the liberties she held so dear.
She found great joy in God's creation and was an avid camper who loved the outdoors. Whether tending a flower bed, caring for her plants, or simply working in her yard, Ann had a remarkable gift for creating beauty wherever she lived. Though she travelled, her favorite place was always home, where family gathered and lasting memories were made.
A gifted baker and wonderful hostess, Ann delighted in opening her home and sharing meals, conversation, and fellowship with those she loved. She also had a special affection for animals and treasured the many pets that shared her life over the years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie, who passed away in 2024. Together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, love, and family. As founding members of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, they faithfully served their church family, worshipped with grateful hearts, and found great joy in helping establish the congregation. Ann especially loved serving through music and cherished singing in the church choir.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Carl Morisey and John Boyce, brother Ralph Dykman Sr, sister Ida Ball, and nephew Ralph Dykman Jr.
Ann is survived by her loving children, Brenda Kay and her husband, Bryan Jones; son, Robert Boyce and wife, Brooke; and daughter, Pattie Morisey; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, William Dykman, Jr.; and many more beloved family members and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love.
Above all, Ann's greatest legacy is one of enduring faith, unconditional love, generous hospitality, and steadfast prayer. Her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.
