Ann Darlene Martin Selby, age 84, passed away on August 31, 2026, at home in San Antonio, Texas. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family. She was born on August 13, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas to Doyle Quentin and Bessie Lee Nix Martin. Ann Darlene married Jerry Lane Selby on November 28, 1959.
The Lord Jesus was her Shepherd and her strength throughout her life. He guided her every step. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in San Antonio for over 75 years. She was also a member of Cornerstone Church of San Antonio.
Darlene worked at Highland Homes and Centex Homes in Real Estate sales. She also worked with fine jewelry at Ben Adams and at Hallmark, expanding her Christmas ornament collection.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Bessie; her two sisters, Betty and Violet; her son-in-law, John Byron Mack; and her two beloved toy poodles. She is survived by her children, Darnell Joy Selby Mack and Destry Lane Selby; grandchildren Samantha, Zachary, and Curtis, and his wife, Analysa Mack; and a soon-to-be great-grandchild.
Darlene leaves behind an enduring love for her family, along with a host of dear cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished celebrations. Her memory will live on in the gatherings, stories, and moments of togetherness that she helped create and that she treasured so deeply.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232.
Interment will follow in Amphion Cemetery in Poteet, Texas at 2:00 P.M. Special thanks to Three Oaks Hospice for helping us care for our mother.
