I knew your mother and father for many years during the time Brunella and I spent some college years together in San Antonio and for decades since. I recently learned of your dear mother's passing. As I read of her rich family, spiritual and community life, the story of the Queen of Smiles, brought me a few tears and a smile, for I always felt so endeared to her Old World customs and Christian spirituality.
I shall always recall the many projects she undertook on behalf of the Church, the needy, and how she was an exemplary mother. Your home was always filled with fascinating aromas and were always accompanied by a little wine in her lovely crystal goblets.
I shall always remember her warmest hospitality, savory home-style Italian cuisine and ever-constant joy she exuded when surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Bruni lived a long and beautiful life and, I, for one, will always remember her jovial manner and know that she imparted a multitude of her special gifts to each of her children and the extended family.
Mrs. Bruni, I will forever remember you and yours with great fondness. You embraced motherhood, grandmotherhood and married life with much love and joy. You came and blessed so many with every little gesture you bestowed to those you encountered. God bless you and yours always.'
