Anna Marie Ellis

Anna "Annie" Ellis beloved wife, mother and sister passed away June 21, 2011 at the age of 64. She devoted her life to family and her nursing career. Anna will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Ms. Ellis was born October 3, 1946 in Laredo, Texas to Octavio M. Garza and Maria Luisa Garcia. She graduated from Martin High School and attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Laredo. After getting her nursing license she lived in Illinois, Houston and finally made San Antonio her home in 1975.

She worked at TriSun/Four Seasons Windcrest Nursing Facilities for 30 years, retiring in 2010. She was always appreciated by her patients and staff. She and her husband, Jack Ellis, enjoyed traveling and dearly loved each other. Her pastime and passion was cooking and tending to her beautiful and immaculate garden.

Annie is preceded in death by her parents, Octavio M. and Maria Louisa Garza, and brother, Horacio Garza. She is survived by her husband, Jack Ellis; son, Daniel Lopez III; brothers, Octavio M. Garza Jr. and wife, Martha, Hector G. Garza and wife, Neva Ann San Antonio, TX, Ricardo J. Garza, Austin, TX; sisters Maria Magdalena Gonzalez and husband, Felix Laredo, TX; Rosalinda Reyes and husband, Ralph Burnet, TX. She is also survived by step-children, Kathy E. Hardwick and husband Rick H., Chris Ellis and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Samantha, Savannah, Sabrina, Jonathan, Blake Ellis, Dillon & Alissa Hardwick; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
