Anna Jo Shirtum

Anna Jo Keith Meredith Shirtum was born in Pecos, TX on October 25, 1921 to Dr. William Page & Dalkeith (Watson) Meredith, Sr. and entered eternity on August 1, 2010 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 88. She was raised in Del Rio where her father was a medical doctor for 36 years. She graduated from Del Rio High School and attended Mary Hardin-Baylor University, where she graduated in 1944 with a business degree. She was a previous member of Alamo Heights Baptist Church and since 1984, a member of San Antonio First Baptist Church as well as a member of the Alamo Chapter of the DAR. Anna Jo was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dr. William P. Meredith, Jr. DDS. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Robert Earl Shirtum; Children, Robert P. Shirtum (Barbara) of Sonora, TX, Joe L. Shirtum and Linda K. Shirtum of San Antonio, TX, Wayne M. Shirtum (Maria) of Freeport, TX; grandchildren, Clinton P. Shirtum (Christi) of Sonora, TX, Barbie Longino (Paul), Becky Smith, both of Lake Jackson, TX, Alma Morton (Kyle) of Port Arthur, TX, Anna Shirtum & Daniel Shirtum, both of Freeport, TX; 5 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Antonio First Baptist Church TV ministry.
