Annamay McMaster Hassan died peacefully on Dec 6, 2012 at the age of 93. Ann was born Oct 6, 1919 in Camden, NJ to Frank W. McMaster and Gertrude S. Cotter McMaster. She graduated from Camden Catholic High School. Ann married the love of her life, Morton Benjamin Hassan on Valentine’s Day 1946 in Philadelphia, PA. Together they raised five children. Ann worked as an administrative assistant and retired from Fairchild Aircraft. She had a very active social life, which included playing bridge, weekly luncheons and monthly dinners. Ann was a devout Catholic who believed in the power of prayer and served as a Eucharistic minister. Ann was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a full life enjoying every moment. Ann traveled to Ireland, England, Scotland, Italy, France, Maine, Hawaii and an Alaskan cruise. Her favorite vacation times were spent on the Jersey shore.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Ben, and grandson Alexander Seth Hassan. She is survived by her sister Mary Jane McMaster Courtright of Warminster, PA and by all five of her children and their families: Morton Benjamin Hassan, Jr. and wife Kathleen, Richard George Hassan and wife Jane, Bernadette Hassan Solorzano and husband Rene, Christopher Seth Hassan, Frank Quentin Hassan and wife Rosario; former daughter-in-law, Connie Hassan; grandchildren, Russell and wife Nikki, Rachel and husband Paul, Alexis, Mia, Andrew, Elizabeth and Sean; great grandchildren, Chloey and Lillian. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held from 6-9:00 pm on Monday, December 10, 2012 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest, 78209. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
