

Her husband of 57 years preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her son, James; daughter-in-law, Mary; and granddaughter, Jamiee of Towson, MD; and her brother, Lloyd Newton of Gurdon, Arkansas.
Anne was born Anna Marabeth Newton in Helena, Montana on March 15, 1919, the only daughter of Lloyd Newton and Anna Myers. She grew up in Gurdon, Arkansas. Anne went to college at age 16 and earned her college degree at barely 19 years old.
She later attained her Master Degree in Education from the University of Maryland. Anne resided in the Silver Spring, MD area from 1946 to 1992. She taught school at Forest Grove Elementary and Glen Allen Elementary for 23 years.
She was a very active volunteer with the Red Cross, Bethesda Naval Hospital and Fischer House. She also assisted with numerous other volunteer activities.
In lieu of flowers, or in memory of Anne, a donation may be made to Freedom House, 5200 John D. Ryan Blvd, San Antonio, Texas 78245. Anne was laid to rest in Pittsburg, Kansas alongside her husband, Matt.
