Anne Catherine Kemp passed away in San Antonio on May 19, 2018. Anne grew up in Lebanon, PA. She became a military wife when she met and married husband, MSgt Terry Kemp, and accompanied him to overseas assignments in Germany, Japan, and Italy—finally settling in San Antonio in 1969. Anne was actively involved in the real estate businesses they owned and many entrepreneurial ventures. Known for her wide-ranging intellectual curiosity, she was an avid reader and attended Northwest Vista community college senior education classes. Her outgoing personality kept her involved in social activities such as a Ladies Night Out dinner group and decades long membership in a local Bunco club. She reigned as Queen of the San Antonio Aristo-Cat Chapter of the Red Hats Society. Anne never met a stranger. Anne was predeceased by her husband and her parents Anna and Bill Ristenbatt.
She is survived by brother Donald Shounder (Rita) and sister Joan Kunder, son David Kemp (Patricia), daughter Karen Huckabee (Roger), granddaughters Taylor Knapp (Eual) and Meredith Behal (Cody), and 4 great grandchildren, Crawford, Brodryck, Cortland and Coehynn along with many other beloved family members.
Viewing at Sunset Funeral Home on May 28th from 5-7PM. Funeral Service on May 29th at 8:30 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, followed by interment at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery.
