Born on August 18, 1931, in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late Vincent DePaul Manning and Irene Frances Manning (nee Hall). She grew up in the heart of New York City during the school week and in Rockaway, Queens, New York on the weekends and holidays - and forever loved the sights, sounds and scents of the seaside beach.
She married John William (Bill) LaValley on April 18, 1953, from Glens Falls, New York, in New York City. She became a U. S. Army Officers wife and loved the wonderful variety of experiences, travel and friends she acquired along the way. She raised her family in multiple cities including Munich, New Orleans, Tucson, Fairfax, and most importantly, San Antonio. Anne was a strong-minded passionate spirit who spoke directly (grammatically correctly, of course) and whose inner compassion and loving kindness led her children to lives of service of others. She pursued working life earnestly and diligently; initially with IBM in New York, then the Small Business Administration in New Orleans, thereafter in San Antonio successfully with Mary Kay cosmetics and for nearly 40 years as a Real Estate Broker and property manager. She truly enjoyed working and particularly loved reading a voracious reader who loved the intricacies and expressions of language her entire life. Anne was a social being, active in the lives of her family and her community, who treasured her family and friendships and who contributed her wisdom and empathy to the lives of her family and friends with devotion and generosity. She lived a life of faith and proudly supported her sons dedication of their lives to serving God in faith. Her husband Bill, the love of her life, passed away in 2006.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, Curtis William, and her sisters, Cathryn Manning and Aileen Frances Kehoe (nee Manning). She is survived by her son, Dr. J William LaValley and his wife Margaret (nee Baker) of Austin, Texas, and their son Logan William; son Eugene Joseph LaValley and his wife Cheryl (nee Anderson) of Winterville, Georgia and their sons John Andrew, Christopher Micah and wife Celia, Fredrick William and wife Rachel; and son Paul Andrew LaValley and wife Norma (nee Gragg) of Tucson, Arizona and their sons Gregory Austin and Colin Joseph.
Anne is survived by additional family members including her nieces, Joann Marion LaValley of San Antonio and Aileen Marie Kaylor (nee Kehoe) of Warren CT, her nephews Thomas John Kehoe of Northport NY, Vincent DePaul Kehoe of Mariposa CA, and Gregory William Kehoe of Tampa FL, and brother-in-law Brian (Buck) Sheldon and his wife Sally of Queensbury, New York.
Anne is also survived by great-grandchildren, Mekenzie (daughter of John LaValley); Ryan, Abigail, Matthew (children of Chris and Celia LaValley); Caleb, Naomi and Joanna (children of Fredrick and Rachel LaValley).
