Anneliese (Anne) S. Marsh, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Stuttgart, Germany on November 22nd, 1928, to Walter Schreiweis and the former Maria Breuling. A Stuttgart Debutante at Age 18, Anneliese was witness to many of history’s most challenging times. In 1949 she graduated from the University of Tuebingen, Germany as a Physician’s Assistant (PA), working in the healthcare profession until 1966 when she immigrated to the United States to marry.
For more than 54 years she shared her life’s adventure with her husband, Nelson L. Marsh, as the consummate partner and Army Spouse in raising their three children and providing dedicated support to United States Army Soldiers and their families for more than 30 years.
Cherished by her family and friends, she was known for her beautiful heart, exceptional culinary skills, clever humor, sound advice, uncompromisingly direct approach to telling life as it is, and boundless generosity to family and friends. Her passing leaves those who knew her not with emptiness, but a legacy of love.
Anneliese is survived by her beloved husband, Nelson L. Marsh; children, Michele M. Marsh, Sharon C. Marsh, Glenn E. Marsh, his wife Michelle L. Marsh, and her twin granddaughters, Annaleigh and Ellyse, named in her honor.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) COVID-19 pandemic, only the immediate family will be present for memorial services on December 23rd, 2020 at 12:30 PM at the Porter Loring North Chapel. To protect those who would otherwise attend, streaming video of the service and interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located in San Antonio, will be provided for family and friends.
