

Anne Celeste Merlo, born on November 4, 1967, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 57. She is preceded in death by her father, George Anthony Merlo. Anne is survived by her loving mother, Maria Luisa Merlo; her stepson, Jake Tinsley; her brother, George Merlo, and his wife, Sandra; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless cherished friends.
Anne's life was marked by numerous achievements. She graduated from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School, earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Northwood University, and became a Certified Court Reporter.
Her recent years reflected her deep devotion to her faith and community. Anne was dedicated to the Catholic church and the Legion of Mary, and spent countless hours serving her faith community. She earned her Basic Catechist Certification with the Archdiocese of San Antonio embodying her compassionate and generous spirit. Anne's love for animals and her kindheartedness touched the lives of many.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. A rosary prayer will take place at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church on Roft Road on Friday, January 31, 2025, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by a requiem mass at 11:00 a.m. The procession to Sunset Memorial Park will depart after mass for inurnment at 1:00 p.m.
Anne Celeste Merlo will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and dedication to her community will be forever cherished.
