

Annie Mae Phillips went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven on October 1, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born March 6, 1922 in San Antonio to Henry and Hedwig Engleman. She married Carl Leonard Phillips on June 21, 1941. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage together before his passing in January of 1995. They especially enjoyed their military assignments in Germany, which gave them the opportunity to explore Europe. They created many happy memories there with their two children, Ralph Lee and Carla Anne.
Annie completed her interior design studies at St. Mary’s University and really enjoyed her career as an interior decorator with Leonard’s. They were members of Concordia Lutheran Church since their beginnings in the 1950’s and dearly loved their church family. Concordia created Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church as a neighborhood outreach and she attended there in her later years. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother to her family. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gilbert Engleman.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Lee Phillips and wife Rev. Lydia S. Martinez; daughter, Carla Anne Adams and husband Ramsey Cecil Adams, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael Phillips and wife Amy, Kimberly Chapparas and husband Rudy, Heather Anne Mize and husband Mark, Carl Leonard Adams and wife Bianca; step- grandchildren, Jennifer Elizabeth Adams, Ramsey Cecil Adams III and wife Brittany, Raymond Charles Adams; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Alexander and Porsha Chapparas, Grant and Ben Mize, Seth Adams; step-great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Faith and Mason Crump and Katie Phillips; sister Esther Louise Willman; nephews, Charles and Leroy Becker.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10AM with visitation one hour before the service at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. She will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
