

He is the husband of 39 years to Alice Vargas Carrillo, father to Tony and Loretta wife, Angela and Joe husband and Alex R. J. Carrillo. He is a grandfather to seven wonderful kids. He is also survived by his father, Ignacio Carrillo and special friend, Anna Robles; a brother, Richard Carrillo and Maria wife; sister, Gina Quintanilla; mother-in-law, Maria Vargas and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
He was born on May 21, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas, to Ignacio and Guadalupe Guevara Carrillo. He was a 1966 graduate of Sidney Lanier High School where he excelled in various activities including the first Senior Band Sweepstakes award rating and leading the ROTC Band as its drum major.
He also received other accolades as an officer of social and civic clubs. Tony later attended San Antonio College.
Tony proudly and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War from February 1968 to October 1971 as a Corpsman and Gunner in the United States Navy.
Tony had recently retired from the ATT Corporation SBC as a customer service repair technician after a 34 year career that included assignments in Craft and Management. His past times included prior services to the Westside Lions Club in Corpus Christi, Texas and the challenging game of Golf.
Tony was a passionate and devoted family man whose total universe revolved around his wife, children and grandchildren. Beloved by his family, he strived to provide them the opportunities he did not have; he greatly succeeded in his goal. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
