Antoine “Tony” Farid Chebeir, 87, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born on December 27, 1938, in Beirut, Lebanon, Tony lived a full and meaningful life defined by discipline, humor, and deep devotion to family.
Tony began his career as an architect in Beirut during the 1960s and 1970s, contributing to the city’s vibrant skyline through his designs of modern apartment buildings. In 1980, he moved to France, and six years later, he immigrated to the United States, where he built a life rooted in faith, tradition, and integrity.
He will be remembered by those who knew him for his meticulous schedule—kept to the minute—his sharp wit, and his unwavering loyalty to loved ones. A proud member of the Maronite Catholic Church, Tony found strength in his faith and community.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Chbeir, and his beloved nieces and nephews—Jennifer, Tony, and Sami Chbeir. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline and Giselle, and his parents, Farid and Marie Chebeir.
A visitation will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary - North, located at 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX, 78232, on February 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A rosary will follow at the same location, beginning at 6:00 pm.
The funeral mass will take place at St George Maronite Catholic Church, located at 6070 Babcock Rd, San Antonio, TX, 78240, on February 21, 2026, at 10:30 am.
