Toni was born on January 8, 1947, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Bob and Julia Wandt. She grew up with her sisters Liz Peirce (Ken) and Jane Clark in Hutchinson, Kansas. She graduated from Hutchinson High School and went on to attend Kansas State University, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
Toni was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Clyde "Speedy" Culpepper. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure, making their home in Sa n Antonio and spending treasured time at their ranch in Castell, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Clyde, daughters, Kellie (Koppes) McKay (Keith) and Kerrie (Koppes) McNeel (Albert); grandchildren, Alexandria McNeel, Macie Prieto (Victor), Shelby McNeel, Cole McKay (Alexa), Madeline Rodriguez (Adrian) and Olivia McNeel; and great-grandchildren, Elayna Prieto, Scotlyn McKay, Harrison Prieto and Rowan Rodriguez, all of whom were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her stepdaughters, Becky Carroll (Keane) and Alison Culpepper, along with step-grandchildren, Mason Blair, Morgan Blair, Carson Carroll and Reese Carroll who she was all very close to. Toni's family was her greatest joy, and she was deeply proud of each of them. She is also survived by her sisters, Liz and Jane.
A member of the Castell Family Church, Toni's faith guided her life and strengthened her relationships. She had a vibrant spirit and a love for fellowship, making friends out of strangers anywhere she went. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis and remained active throughout her life. She loved gathering with friends to play cards and dominoes, sharing Laughter around the table. Toni and Speedy also enjoyed playing golf and traveling together, especially taking cruises that created lasting memories.
A service to celebrate Toni's life will be held on Tuesday, February 24th at 1: OO p.m. at Porter Loring North, with burial to follow at Mission Park Dominion. Keith McKay, Albert McNeel, Keane Carroll, Cole McKay, Mason Blair, Carson Carroll and Reese Carroll will serve as pallbearers with Victor Prieto and Adrian Rodriguez as honorary pallbearers.
Toni will be remembered for her warmth, her strong devotion to family, her joyful laugh and conversation, and the kindness she extended to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the many lives she touched.
She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
