

After attending Jackson State University, he met the love of his life, Annette and quickly married her. Archie then joined the Air Force, where he worked in security, while serving his country for the next 22 years.
After his retirement, Archie worked as a GS13 government employee for over 15 years as a supply superintendent at Castle Air Force Base Hospital in Atwater, CA. He and the family moved to San Antonio, where he continued his "3rd career" as a long time sports official and coach. Archie loved to play bones and was known by several nicknames including: Silver Fox, Big Daddy, Coach Cosey and Sugar Bear. He was a devoted member of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church when he was in Mississippi and attended the base chapel at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Archie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a proud veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annette, sons, Archie Cosey, III and his wife Heather, Glen Cosey; daughter, Teresa Lamb and her husband, Jerome; grandchildren, Clemmie Cooksey, Aniya Harris, Acacia Cosey and Archie Cosey, IV; 15 brothers, 5 sisters and great friends, Bruce and Iris Alford, Will and Gloria Whitten, Archie and Yvonne Elliott and Larry and Trina Clark.
