Arlene C. Blum, age 57, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001. A former member of Rodfei Sholom, Agudas Achim, and Temple Beth El Synagogue, Mrs. Blum was President of Hadassa, Nurses Chapter Raquela and former Director of Nursing Special Surgery at University Hospital. She was assistant to the Administrator of Memorial Medical Nursing Home and a supporter of Community Care Net at Golden Manor Jewish Home for the Aged. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Blum, former Professor at UTHSC; sons, Jeffrey H. Blum and girlfriend, Victoria Donovan, Los Angeles, CA and Seth H. Blum, San Antonio; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Trudy Schlessel; sister-in-law, Barbara Blum Damesek; niece, Marla Cassella; numerous nieces and nephews, Ellen Damesek Nelson, Hildy Damesek and Gary Damesek; many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
