I never had Mrs. Carrington as a teacher when she was toiling at TMI, but many of my friends did and I was well aware of her presence. The times that we shared conversation revealed her to be one of the kindest people I'd ever had the privelidge of meeting. To this day I am good friends with her grandchildren Mary and Jennifer and my heart goes out both to them and their family for the loss all have suffered. Truly, Arline was a rare gem of a human being and the world is a lesser place with her passing. My very best wishes and empathies for all of those that will carry on in her stead.

Mrs. Carrington was a wonderful woman and a great teacher. I was a 15 year old orphan entering boarding school at Texas Military Institute in 1981 and Mrs. Carrington was the first teacher that I met. She was always encouraging and patient with me. I loved her English class! I will always remember her smile and her sense of humor. Though I haven't seen her in 20 years, she has always been and will always be in my heart. She will be missed.

I have such fond memories about your Mom and Dad from when we taught together at Pat Neff. They were both such wonderful loving people. I am blessed for having known them. I was delighted to have run into your mother while shopping not too long ago. As all of us do, we both said we should get together sometime. It is said so easily and just as easily forgotten. I am sorry that I didn't follow through. 
You are in my prayers and I know that Catherine Smith and Sybil Roberts Judge also extend their sympathies.

Mrs. Carrington was a beautiful and intelligent soul. She will be sorely missed. My condolence to you all.

Twenty-three years ago, Arline Carrington was my Freshman English teacher at Texas Military Institute. She was an exceptional lady who provided me with a profound and lasting appreciation for literature, particularly ?The Odyssey?. Over the intervening years, I had the pleasure of seeing her on several occasions, most recently this last year at the wedding of one of her granddaughters. She was then as vivacious and good humored as I remember her all those years ago. I was always touched that she took the time to tell me how fond she was of my bother Tim, who was also one of her students and who passed away some years ago. For that, I was most grateful. I hope she shall enjoy an eternity of rosy-fingered dawns.

MY DECEASED HUSBAND GUY SHAW AND I HAD THE LAWN SERVICE THAT MAINTAINED YOUR MOM AND DADS LAWN ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO PRIOR TO HIS DEATH. WE THOUGHT A LOT OF BOTH OF THEM. THEY WHERE SUCH WONDERFUL PEOPLE. FROM TALKING WITH MRS CARRINGTON I KNEW SHE WAS INVOLVED IN THE GIRL SCOUTS, WE IN THE SCOUTING PROGRAM HAVE A SAYING THAT GIRL SCOUT VOLUNTEERS NOT ONLY GET WINGS WHEN THEY PASS FROM THIS WORLD, BUT VERY SPECIAL ONES, FOR THEY ARE GREEN WINGS EARNED FOR THE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE THEY ARE. I FEEL SURE YOUR MOM HAS HER GREEN WINGS AND IS WITH THE VERY SPECIAL ANGELS IN HEAVEN.
