Armandina Martinez

Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Armandina Martinez, age 88, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016. She was born in Sweetwater, TX to wonderful parents: Jose Lopez and Maria Galindo Morales. Armandina retired as a seamstress from Frost Bros. Department Store. After her retirement she went on to create custom wedding dresses and formal gowns. She continued to sew until she could no longer see the fine needlework in her gowns. Armandina enjoyed being outdoors; one of her favorite past times was watching the beautiful birds in her backyard. Armandina loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately call her "Ita."

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Cesar R. Martinez; Daughter: Rosario Irene Martinez; parents: Jose Lopez and Maria Galindo Morales; siblings: Manuel Lopez, Jesus Lopez and Rosalba Cerna.

Armandina is survived by her children: Cesar Martínez, José "Pepe" Martínez, Diamantina "Tina" Martínez, María "Chiquis" Martínez, Oscar "Javier" Martínez; Grandchildren: Marissa Saldívar, Erika Zagala, Karla "Nina" Martínez, Rosario "Charito" Nance, José "Pepito" Martínez, Cesar Francisco Martínez, Oscar Martínez and Michael Martínez and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough with recitation of the Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM in the chapel.

On Friday, May 27th at 10:00 AM, a Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road in Helotes, TX 78023 followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
