Armando Gonzalez – Our Beloved Son and Father, age 77, passed away in San Antonio, Texas, and entered eternal life on February 21, 2023. Armando was born on October 10, 1945, in Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila.
Armando is survived by his mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez; son, Bernardo Gonzalez (Allison); daughter, Cristina Gonzalez-Harris (Darren); grandchildren, Dejanira, Christopher, Xavier, Celestina, Maximus, Trevor, and Stella; and many other extended family members and friends.
He graduated from Brackenridge High School and attended St. Phillips and San Antonio College in support of his career as an Electrician.
Armando, known as “Mando”, was a Proud Purple Heart Vietnam Sergeant Veteran and an electrician by trade but was an all-around handyman who could fix just about anything. His appreciation for the American Dream motivated him to become a USA citizen in 1993. He owned his own household appliance repair shop, and his work ethic was an inspiration to many. He enjoyed making people laugh and joked around with anyone who would sit and chat with him.
We will all miss his infectious laughter that could light up any room, his genuine concern for others, and his “big love.”
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
