Armando Hernandez entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2025 at the tender age of 64. He was born on August 4, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Olivia Segovia and Jose Hernandez. Known for his big heart and dependable nature, Armando was a caring man who made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
For 23 years, he proudly worked at Mi Tierra Café, where he became part of the restaurant's heartbeat and a familiar face to many. Outside of work, Armando was a true sports enthusiast. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs, and he never missed a college football or basketball game—always cheering with passion, win or lose.
Though he loved to listen to Tejano music, his family will fondly remember that dancing wasn’t his strong suit—but that never stopped him from trying. His good-humored spirit and joyful presence brought people together.
Armando had a special way of showing love. He wasn’t just a devoted son, brother, uncle, and cousin—he was a father figure to his nieces and nephew. He gave his time, energy, and heart without hesitation, always putting family first and making sure those around him felt supported and cared for.
He will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Olivia and Jose Hernandez; maternal grandparents, Maria B. and Carlos G. Segovia; and aunt, Ramona Segovia.
Armando’s memory will forever live in his sister, Elsa H. Villarreal’ nieces, Crystal Villarreal (Josh Snavely) and Briana Villarreal; nephew, Ignacio Villarreal Jr. (Adrianna); seven great-nieces and nephews. His loving fur babies, Rocky and Big Ears (dogs), and Bullet “Gibblet” (cat); beloving family, Christina Esquivel, Laura Garza; friends, Lucia Newton and Ramiro Alvarez; and numerous cousins, and extended family members.
His legacy is one of loyalty, kindness, and unwavering love—a man who stood strong for his family and lived life with sincerity and heart.
A visitation for Armando will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home. A holy rosary will be on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Monday, July 28, 2025 starting at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
