Arnold J. Cardenas

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Arnold J. Cardenas, loving husband and father, passed away at age 59. Arnold was born July 17, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, to Antonio and Guadalupe Cardenas. He graduated from Antonian Preparatory High School where he was a member of the band and made many lifelong friends. He continued his education at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he received his BBA in Management and worked in Human Resources throughout his career. On June 10, 1989, he married the love of his life Susan, and in January 1994 was blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Elizabeth.

Arnold had a passion for reading and his library included all types of books, but his favorite was always a Louis L'Amour western. He loved animals, especially dogs, and usually had one close by. Arnold and Susan enjoyed traveling with and spending time with her twin sister Sharon and husband Mark. He was always cheering on Elizabeth, whether it was school, sports or her music. Arnold was a kind and generous soul who jumped at the opportunity to help others.

He is survived by his wife; Susan, daughter; Elizabeth, father; Antonio, brother; Eric, sister; Valerie and his nephew; Noah. He is preceded in death by his mother; Guadalupe and brother; Anthony.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, January 5, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Porter Loring North Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
