

Arthur Michael Ambrosino, 79, passed away on November 17, 2025. He lived in San Antonio, Texas with his wife, Roberta. Arthur was born in Gloversville, New York on October 22, 1946. He was predeceased by his parents, Jeanne & Giro Ambrosino, 2002 & 1995, respectively, and his brother, Mark Ambrosino in 1977.
He graduated from Gloversville High School and continued his education at SUNY Albany with a Masters in Geology. He studied Geographic Information Systems at University of Albany, and followed with Mining Engineering at Columbia University in 2003. He also studied abroad to learn leather tanning sciences prior to his geological studies.
His longtime passion was his Great Sacandaga Lake Project. He was CEO of Great Sacandaga Energy Metals, Inc. Arthur spent decades developing this with the prospect of sand harvesting rare earth minerals from the lake. He wrote and published many papers on this topic.
Arthur’s lifetime passion was exercising. He could be seen performing his shadow boxing routine on neighborhood sidewalks around his homes.
Arthur was a beacon of love and optimism, always with a kind word for everyone he met. His contagious laugh and outgoing personality will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Rasor Ambrosino; his three children, Michael Ambrosino (Deb), Amy Ambrosino (Melanie), Mark Ambrosino (Talia); siblings, Julie Ambrosino (Swayne), Lori Rooney (Dan), Jeri Lynn Bursese (Sam), Scott Ambrosino (Kristian); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several aunts; and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held in New York in September of 2026. Details will follow.
