Arthur Garza

Arthur Garza entered eternal rest on July 6, 2026, at the age of 98. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Following his honorable military service, he built a respected career as a Master Mechanic at Tom Benson Chevrolet, where he was known for his exceptional skill, unwavering dedication, and strong work ethic.

Arthur will always be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. Friendly, caring, and compassionate, he touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness and generosity.

Raised by his beloved mother, Amada G. Martinez, Arthur carried with him the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance throughout his life. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, proud great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved. When he wasn’t working on cars, he enjoyed spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities.

Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Dolores Garza; his sons, Anthony D. Garza and Frank Flores; his mother, Amada G. Martinez; his sister, Esther; and his brother, Alfonso.

He is survived by his children, Artie (Alisa), John (Debra), Patricia (Mike), Dorothy, and Beatrice; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and many other beloved family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Arthur’s life was a shining example of service, dedication, dignity, and unconditional love. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78237. On Thursday, July 30, 2026, the funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m., with a Chapel Service at 9:30 a.m. We will depart the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. arrival and committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1590 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209.

Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, and Friend, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
