Arthur William Hoff Jr., lovingly known as Bill, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, in Tomball, Texas, at the age of 65. He was born on May 19, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas, to Arthur William Hoff Sr. and Johnnie Lucille Hoff.
Bill grew up in San Antonio and attended Boerne High School. From an early age, he developed a love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and golfing with his dad. Those passions stayed with him throughout his life, and he was happiest when he was outdoors enjoying the things he loved.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He met the love of his life, Helen Medean, while out dancing in 2002. They married on May 3, 2003, and from that day forward, they were nearly inseparable. Bill and Helen shared a love that was evident to everyone around them. They were rarely seen without holding hands, and their faith in the Lord and devotion to one another were at the heart of their lives together.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Megan Longoria, and his stepchildren, Claire Medean and Russell Medean. He was a loving grandfather to Matthew Lopez, 11, Rosie Lopez, 4, and Harley Medean, 15. His family will carry his memory with them and remember the life he shared with those he loved.
A man of deep faith, Bill was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tomball, Texas. He and Helen loved the Lord and were deeply involved in their church community. Bill faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister, finding great meaning in serving others through his faith.
Bill spent many years working in the cabinetry business and eventually followed his entrepreneurial spirit by owning his own company, Bayou City Cabinets. He took pride in his work and in the business he built.
Beyond work and family, Bill knew how to have a good time. He loved visiting the casinos in Lake Charles, which he frequented over the years. But perhaps nothing brought out his biggest smile quite like dancing. Bill and Helen loved country western dancing, and the dance floor was a place where Bill truly came alive. He especially loved teaching family members how to dance. One of his favorite memories was spinning his sisters around the dance floor, a tradition and memory that brought laughter and joy to those who knew him.
Bill had a generous spirit, a playful sense of humor, and a love for life that made him unforgettable. He had a way of making ordinary moments special, whether he was sharing a dance, enjoying the outdoors, spending time with family, or simply holding Helen’s hand.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Hoff; his parents, Arthur William Hoff Sr. and Johnnie Lucille Hoff; and his brother-in-law, Harvey Schwertner.
He is survived by his daughter, Megan Longoria; stepchildren, Claire Medean and Russell Medean; grandchildren, Matthew Lopez, Rosie Lopez, and Harley Medean; his sisters, Delores Shook and her husband, Jim Shook, Deborah Schwertner, and Diane VanderBrugen and her husband, Curt VanderBrugen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bill was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his absence will be felt in countless ways. His love for Helen, his devotion to his family, his faith, his laughter, and his love of dancing and the outdoors will remain part of the memories he leaves behind.
We love you, Bill. You will be missed more than words can say, and you will forever be in our hearts.
