'I always remember Mr. Jimenez with a smile. He always seemed to be laughing and smiling. I can truly say that he was a man who loved life. The world is a better place having had him in it.'

'Uncle Art will be missed at our family gatherings on Creekline. He always had lots to say and no one was ever safe from his teasing. He always wanted to know what his nieces and nephews were up to and never forgot our interests. He was always ready to lend me another paperback book. 
Aside from being a great uncle, he was also a loving grandfather. The last thing I ever heard him say was "I love you, Jonathon" to his grandson on Christmas Day. I clearly remember seeing him bend down to hug and kiss Jonathan good-bye. Being a grandfather or "PeePa" was another one his many great achievements--one that I will never forget.'

'To the Jimenez family, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. I knew Arthur dating back to the day I started working at the Post Office in 1981. How could I not notice the snoring and make shift sign that read "do not disturb - Sleeping" while he was keying on the LSM Letter Sorting Machine during the night shift. Art was truly a special person. We had a West Point connection when my older son decided to attend the academy. When Art discovered that both my sons were runners, he would make it a point to let me know that he had read the newspaper articles about them. He even found time around his busy schedule to attend my son's cross country meets as well as their track meets. He definitely took time out for others. Art, you will be missed.'

'My uncle Arthur was one of the best men I have ever known. I usually invited my friends to attend my parent's annual Christmas party. Although Arthur didn't know any of them, he would always greet each one of them personally, as if they were his old friends. He always made everyone feel welcome at any gathering. 'It is hard to just speak about one or two things when it comes to my uncle arthur. He always had a joke ready for you at all times. He was willing to help anyone at any time when they needed it. When you asked him he was there. I will fondly remember my numerous lunches with him and mom at Jims. I called him my "pseudo lawyer" because of all the letters he helped me to write. He was like a second father to me. What I admired most about him was his ability to think so quick on his feet! I wish I could do think like that. He also was so proud of all his kids and their accomplishments. I am so glad that he was able to meet Trey my fiancee. Trey said that Arthur really did make feel so comfortable. Trey also said that Arthur made him to feel like a part of our family. It was a long week at the hospital but at least we got to say tell him our stories,good byes, and reconnect with our family too. He will be dearly missed by us all. Our prayers are with Sylvia, Tobey, Mark, and Robin.

'I work in the Facilities Department for the Postal Service and have known Art for over five years. I assisted Art with contracts, mostly over the phone. When he would call to ask for help, he always made me smile with his friendly greeting, a funny joke or a good story about San Antonio. I was also born in San Antonio and was always happy to visit with Art. This past year I no longer worked in the contracting area so I lost contact with him. Later as I grew older I'd hear him referring to me and Laura as "Las Dos Wercas" and eventually "Las Dos". At most events, Uncle Arthur was the life of the party---always teasing, laughing and ready to get out on the dance floor. We love you and we'll miss you Uncle Arthur. 'Arthur and I spoke on the phone two weeks ago and though his health was deteriorating rapidly, he was still in good spirits and joking as always. This is my last remembrance of him and I am glad. As I think about our last conversation together, it reminds me and leaves me with the memory of Arthur's personality: happy and fun-loving. Arthur was also a very caring person. I remember he would come and see my father Nick every time he became ill. He always made time to come and visit his uncle Nick and they loved to talk about boxing since they both loved the sport. He would often crack us up with his stories and jokes. A funny story about Arthur was when he went to see my father at the hospital and made him smile in spite of the fact that he was very ill. He went to the hospital to see him and when he arrived, he told my father with a straight face, "Tio, cuando me dijeron que estabas enfermo, me vine corriendo,pause de la cantina". 
Arthur was also my dancing partner at many of the family functions as he was with so many others that liked to dance like him. 
As everyone knows, Arthur liked to kid around: he frequently greeted my cousin Gloria and I with "Hey wercas feyas!".

'I met Arthur in elementary schoolJT Backenridge. I remember seeing his excitement when he won the GG Novice Championship TV. When he went to Harlandale HS I stayed at Lanier. I also lived for a couple of years on Viva Max. I remember little Arthur getting out of the house and running down the sidewalk & Arthur running after him. I also remember Arthur jogging in the neighborhood. Later he told me how proud he was of his daughter that graduated from Holmes HS and went to UT Austin. He was always proud of all his wife & family. Arthur remained the same HONORABLE man all his life. Our deepest sympathy to ALL of HIS family. MR & MRS Ramiro Martinez & family.'
