Arturo Castillo Sanchez

Arturo C. Sanchez, born November 9, 1931 entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the age of 83. Arturo had a deep faith in God and often called for the intercession of St. Jude. Throughout his life, Arturo Sanchez saw God in nature and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, fishing, and listening to music. He loved all sports and was especially an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He led a simple life with an immense love for his family; they were his greatest treasure. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents: Teodora C. and Ramon Sanchez; brothers: Rodolfo, Alfonso, Roberto Sanchez; sister, Herlinda Sanchez; beloved sons: Arturo G. Sanchez Jr. and Armando G. Sanchez. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elvira G. Sanchez, and daughters Rachel (Preston)Valenzuela, Rosemary (Richard) Mendoza, Yolanda S. McGlothlin, Diana (Donald) Servais, Maria Elena (Sean) Barron, Janet (Michael) Perez, Elizabeth (Gerald) Lopez; daughter-in-law, Ofelia H. Sanchez, as well as 23 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is survived by brothers Raul Sanchez and Ernesto Diego Martinez. He is also survived by his cousins, numerous nieces and nephews. He will be affectionately remembered and deeply missed. A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 7:00PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00AM on Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
