Audie was born on October 17, 1934 in Harlingen, Texas and passed away on March 3, 2016 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert M. Smith and Clara Brown Smith, and by his first wife of 31 years Joyce Smith. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Sherry Smith, son Audie Wade and wife Erika, daughter Mimi Rutledge, grandchildren: Warren and Ashley Smith, and Amber and Caty Rutledge, and great-granddaughter Hadlee Smith.
Audie owned and operated Audie and Joyce Beauty Salon, and Audie and Joyce Mini-Storage for over 60 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Texas Shrine Association. Of his many accomplishments, his family was his most cherished.
Audie moved to Bulverde in 1986 and loved his country property, and immensely enjoyed all it had to offer, including his large animal family.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 with a visitation starting at 11AM and a service at 12PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park
