

Audrey Ahner McClinchie, age 70, a resident of Bulverde, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2007 after a brief illness. She was a lifelong Artist/Educator and had much of her success in Texas. Audrey received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University in 1960, a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and had completed all the coursework and oral exams for a PhD in Cultural Foundations of Educations at UT in 1980. Audrey taught Art and Art Education at the University of Texas at Austin, Southwestern University in Georgetown, St. Edward's University and Austin Community College during her teaching years. She also taught seminars at the Texas Museum of Cultural Anthropology in Winedale, Texas. An accomplished painter, she had shows at the University of Texas, Southwestern University, St Edward's University and the Elizabeth Ney Museum in San Antonio. Many of her paintings are in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Malcolm U. McClinchie of Bulverde; her sister, Janet Rubinoff of Toronto, Canada; and three sons, Malcolm U. McClinchie III of Bulverde, Kurt W. McClinchie of Dallas, and Keith C. McClinchie of Bulverde, their wives and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
