

Auria “Kip” Wooldridge passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024. Born Auria Nan Valentine on July 10, 1930 in Fort Riley, Kansas, she lived the life of a proud Army daughter, granddaughter, and wife. She was the eldest child of Col. Charles Howard Valentine and Iona Mae Underwood. Kip married her beloved husband Col. William David “Bill” Wooldridge in 1954. Together, they were stationed across the US and globally, until Bill’s military retirement from Ft. Sam Houston in 1981.
Known to her family and friends as “Kip”, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Always the life of the party, Kip enjoyed hosting and cooking for loved ones, taking her grandkids on adventures to Sea World, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs! She was a dog lover to the core, with a soft spot for dachshunds, owning over 20 in her lifetime. She adored seeing different parts of the world. She and Bill traveled extensively, both during his military career and later in life.
Kip is survived by her daughters: Jean (Brad) Grant and Sharon Cameron, and daughter-in-law: Anna Wooldridge; grandchildren: Charles (Krystyna) Cameron, Aimee (Lance) Hoke, Angelina (Brant) Pallasch, Caitlyn (Luke) Maloy, Veronika Grant and Anastasia Grant; great grandchildren: Caden Woehl, Jude and Aella Hoke, and Rosemary Pallasch; sister: Shirley Irvin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Wooldridge, and son David Wooldridge.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 1, 10:00 am in the Cheever Chapel at The Army Residence Community in San Antonio. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas A&M, the Center for the Intrepid at BAMC, or the Army Residence Community Foundation.
