

Aurora Morales Negrete, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2022, due the complications from the Covid-19 virus at the Baptist Hospital. She was born on January 6, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of the late Pablo Menchaca Morales and Ana Hamilton Morales.
Aurora was preceded in death by her husband, Rosalio (Leo) Perez Negrete; her brothers Edward Morales, Juan H. Morales, Francisco Morales, Raul Morales, Pablo Morales Jr.; sisters Josephine Madrid, Rosa Morales, Eva Maldonado, and Margaret Pedraza.
Aurora graduated from Lanier High School, Class of 1947. She fell in love and married Rosalio (Leo) in 1950. They traveled and lived in Florida while he was in the U.S. Marine Corps until he was sent to Korea.
Upon returning to San Antonio, Aurora devoted her time and love to raising a family of four children: Laura Ann, Larry Stephen, Elizabeth Rose and Leo Russell.
She also dedicated her hard-working ethic to a career as a civil servant in Procurement for the U.S. Government at Fort Sam Houston, Kelly AFB, and Lackland AFB. She retired in 1989 spending time loving and enjoying her 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was actively involved at St. Leos Catholic Church. She worked with the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She also served on the Servants of God Prayer Group and the Bereavement Committee. She also participated in the Descendants of the Canary Island Organization delivering the opening prayers at the meetings.
Aurora always promoted great family values and instilled her love of God in her daily life, always trying to convert people to the faith. She prayed the rosary and the Sacred Heart Chaplet daily, keeping her family and friends in her prayers.
She advocated for the needy, was caring, extremely generous and believed in telling the truth. Aurora has left a legacy of love and compassion that people will always remember her for. She will be forever in our hearts and minds. We will miss her dearly, but we know she is with our heavenly Father.
The visitation for Aurora will begin at 6:00 p.m. on August 22nd followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Porter Loring Mortuary on 1101 McCullough Avenue.
A procession leaving from Porter Loring Mortuary to St. Leos Catholic Church will take place on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 9:15 a.m.
A funeral mass will be held on August 23rd at St. Leos Catholic Church located at 4415 S. Flores Street at 10:00 a.m.
The internment will follow at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church cemetery located at 14011 FM 1346, St. Hedwig, Texas 78152.
A reception at Annunciation of Blessed Mary Catholic Church will take place after burial.
