Avelino Mota, age 86, passed away August 12, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on April 16, 1932 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Albino and Isabel Garza Mota. Avelino served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, later retiring from the U.S. Postal Services. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Ramon Mota, Isabel Martinez and Josefina Mota. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Priscilla Martinez Mota; children, Ramon Mota and wife Teresa, Daniel Mota and wife Wilma, Reynaldo Mota and Eloisa Mota; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers Albino Mota Jr., Manuel Mota, Benigno Mota; sisters, Ester Olivares, Julia Cabrera, Amelia Gutierrez, and Elena Lopez. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera road on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M for a 9:30 A.M. mass on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Air Force Honors.
