Avis J. Foley, age 84, went to join her husband of 44 years, her parents and siblings on January 2, 2012. She was born in Rockdale, TX on June 9, 1927. She married Hubert, her husband on May 1, 1943 in Preston, MN. Hubert was in the U. S. Army and moved a lot. They finally built a home in Kirby, TX in 1964. Hubert died of cancer in 1987. Avis lived a full life, but never remarried. She lived in her home for over 40 years.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Foley; mother & father, Mary & Clint Knight; 8 brothers & sisters; and grandson, Troy Stobaugh;
Mrs. Foley is survived by her 3 loving daughters, Shirley Wise, Beverly Stobaugh and Lynne Chenault & husband Ron; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Myra Mae Ferguson.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 12 noon, Friday, January 13, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
