Barbara attended Thomas Edison High School in San Antonio and graduated valedictorian of her nursing class at Incarnate Word College in 1962. She served as an ER nurse for several years before stopping to start and raise her family. Barbara moved with her family from Texas to Jacksonville, FL, Luxemburg, Germany, Irvine, CA, and finally to Charlotte, NC to be closer to family.
Barbara and David enjoyed traveling extensively around the world, reading, enjoying wine and being close to family.
Barbara is survived by her son, John Halm (Sally); daughter, Darcy Trzupek (Gerry); and her three grandchildren, Juliana Halm, Maggie and Lorelei Trzupek.
Services to celebrate Barbara will be held Tuesday, February 17, at Sunset Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9am; funeral services will take place at 11am with a committal service and reception to follow.
