

On December 20th, 2023 Barbara Ann (Wilson) Polanco, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed peacefully from this life at her home. Barbara Ann was born April 15, 1949 in Fredericksburg to Randal Wayne Wilson and Elizabeth Jane (Moreau) Wilson. She spent her early years in Junction, Texas where her dad and granddad owned and operated the Wilson Dairy. At age 4 the family, which now included a little brother Richard Wayne (Ricky) and little sister Linda Joy (Lindy), moved to the Leon Springs area where she grew up attending school in Boerne.
“Barb” graduated from Boerne High School in 1967, attended SAC, and graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught for 30 years, making a difference in the lives of countless children. Along the way, she married John Polanco and to this union was born Jessica Anisa Polanco (Haney) and Jonathan Andre Polanco.
Barb was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and loving aunts and uncles, including her godmother Ann Wilson Horn with whom she had a special loving relationship.
She is survived by brothers Randy Richards and Rick Wilson (Sharon), sister Lindy Peterson (Robert), son Jonathan Polanco (Monica), daughter Jessica Haney (Brad), and the light of her life grandchildren - Brittney Haney, Aiden Haney, and Emmerson Haney. Also surviving her are 8 nieces and nephews, 17 grandnieces and grandnephews and numerous cousins.
A private family Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to your favorite charity or SPCA.
