Barbara A. Wheeler of San Antonio, TX passed away suddenly on September 12, 2026. Born in Baltimore, MD she was the 3rd daughter of the late Charles D. and Marie (Frank) Wheeler. She is survived by her sisters Janet Dashiell (Edwin) and Jean Wheeler. Also survived by her nephews Charles and Eric Dashiell.
Barb graduated from University of Baltimore with a BA degree. She worked at Becton & Dickinson & Co. in Hunt Valley, MD for many years before relocating to California. She continued to work in Quality Assurance in the Biomedical field after relocating to San Antonio in 1997.
Barb was a dog lover! Over the years she had many canine companions starting with her wonderful Dalmatian, K.D. She always had 1-3 dog companions in the house. Her final canine friend was “Meatball”, a Pitbull mix. They were fast friends.
Barb had a generous spirit and loved helping her wonderful friends and neighbors, often watching and tending to their cats and dogs when their people went on vacation.
Many loved Barb and embraced her caring and compassionate nature. She was a true sister, aunt, and friend.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
