Barbara A. Wright

Barbara A. Wright, age 71, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. Barbara was born in Biloxi, Mississippi where her father was stationed in the Air Force. She spent most of her childhood overseas in England and Germany. She attended the University of Maryland and University of Florida for her masters degree. She entered the Air Force in 1981 as a captain in the Medical Corps and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas and Honolulu, Hawaii leaving the Air Force in 1984 to raise her children and moved to San Antonio in 1993. She was active in bowling, served on several school boards and as a soccer mom. After a long illness she died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her husband all her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Viola Schramm. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James Wright; sons, Stephen Wright and Timothy Wright; daughter, Kathryn Wright; granddaughter, Olivia Grace Wright; sister, Kathrine “Kathy” O’Neill and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm.,Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
