Barbara "Bobbi" Alizzi Zavala, loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother, entered eternal rest October 8, 2015. She was 67. Born September 26, 1948, Bobbi grew up on the West Side of San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1966.
She began her lifelong career as a nurse after she graduated from San Antonio Nursing College in 1976. She was a surgical nurse for many years at hospitals in San Antonio and Austin, until her retirement in 1997.
She then became a full-time grandma, as she described herself on Facebook. Bobbi was a fun-loving, gentle soul who loved the outdoors, sci-fi movies, collecting music boxes and Christmas decorations, and making ceramics. But nothing was more special to her than spending time with family and friends, and her dog, Sofie.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Louis H. Zavala; daughters Dawn "Dee Dee" Walker (Scott Pruitt) and Michelle Lee Michalec (Robert); four grandchildren, Amber Renee Duran, Patrick Otto Michalec, Crystal Ann Michalec and Breanna Cheyenne Walker; parents, Bertha "Birdie" and Louis "Louie" Alizzi; and loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and just a ton of people who will miss her loving, free spirit.
May Bobbi walk with the angels in Heaven until we meet again.
