Barry Alan Godfrey

Ret. CMSgt. Barry Alan Godfrey, 47, was born in Hammersmith, UK to Lionel Ernest Godfrey and Margaret Anne Godfrey. Barry joined the US Air Force in March 1990. He met his lovely wife Gilda Neria in August 1993 at MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL and married shortly after in April 1994. Barry is survived by his lovely wife Gilda Godfrey, 3 children Megan M. Godfrey, Lauren Godfrey and Jared L. Godfrey; as well as, his lovely mum Margaret Godfrey, sisters Joanne Wallbanks and Emma Burge.

Military life came with a lot of challenges and many adventures. Barry loved to travel and took his family on many trips. As a child, Barry was quite an entertainer and enjoyed doing magic tricks for friends and family. He always loved an audience and thought of himself as being funny. He took pride in his hair and good looks. Barry played British football as early as he could walk. He was a lifetime supporter of Queens Park Rangers, though they were not well known, he proudly wore their team jersey. Barry was a wonderful family man and was a proud Military man, he did everything by the book.

He served for the USAF for 25yrs. before being medically retired due to his illness of pancreatic cancer. Barry passed away at home holding the hands of his loved ones and fell asleep in peace on the evening of the 14th April 2016.
