
B.B. Saxon, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, died July 30, 2004 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 89. He is remembered by his family and friends for his determination, focus, generosity and loving spirit. Mr. Saxon was born in Montezuma, GA on September 25, 1914, the youngest of twelve children to Dollie and Mal Saxon, and raised in the small community of Bunker Hill in Clay County, AL. Armed only with his own imagination, native ability, and capacity for hard work, he ventured forth from Clay County into the world of business and achieved resounding success. The B.B. Saxon Co., which he founded in 1957, grew to be one of the leading aerospace maintenance contracting firms in the country and one of San Antonio's largest employers, with headquarters in San Antonio and operations extending to Air Force bases worldwide. Through Mr. Saxon's leadership, the B.B. Saxon Co. received local and national awards for hiring and training disadvantaged youth through the company's on-the-job training program. Mr. Saxon also served for many years as an advisory director for Union State Bank. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Violet G. Saxon; his children Billy M. Saxon, Robert M. Saxon, and Nita Taylor and their spouses; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five grandpuppies.
