From a young age, Beatrice's Catholic faith guided her life. She prayed faithfully and was known for her blessings and prayers. She blessed each person she loved and held so many of us up in prayer. Her bedroom shrine was filled with rosaries, Saints, and her son Hector’s photo which were all a reflection of her deep devotion. She holds special devotion to Saint Jude and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Beatrice met her husband, Hector, when they were sixteen years old. She rode the city bus to Little Flower High School, where Hector first noticed her and was fascinated by her beauty. From that moment on, their love story began and grew into seventy years of a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
She enjoyed watching her novellas, Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs games. She loved cooking, baking, playing bunco, and spending time with her sisters. Some of her favorite memories were the times they made tamales and gorditas together, sharing laughter and stories in the kitchen.
Beatrice worked as a dental hygienist assistant when she was younger and a bilingual assistant at Randolph AFB. She proudly pulled her kids’ loose teeth for the tooth fairy. She loved her visits to the beauty shop, where getting her hair done always made her feel her best. Beatrice also enjoyed her word search and cherished Sunday family barbecues. One of her well-known sayings was, “Hector, go get more food because I don’t think we’re going to have enough!” Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and good food, where she shared her love through her cooking, her stories, and her faith.
Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose faith and love touched everyone around her. She is survived by her loving husband, Hector Orozco Sr., and her children Debora L. Garza (Jaime), Sandra L. Orozco, and Paul J. Orozco (Yolanda). Beatrice was blessed with twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply. She is also survived by her sisters Delia Garza, Anita Alvarez, Gloria Morris, and brother Robert Rivas, as well as her godchildren JoAnn Rios, Michelle Rodriguez, Alfred Arce, and Roland Arce. Beatrice leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. She also shared a close bond with her driver Nicholas, whose kindness and care meant so much to her and the family.
Beatrice is preceded in death by her beloved son Hector R. Orozco Jr., her parents, in-laws, and many family members who now welcome her into eternal rest.
