He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Weiss Day.
Survived by their three children and their spouses, Larry and Roberta Day, Laine and Joel Sanders, Edward and Luz Elena Solis Day; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his two brothers and sister, Fred, Charles and June and survived by his elder sister, Jean and his younger brother, Bill.
Considered his birthplace Plainview, Texas to be his home. He graduated from Texas A & M College in 1938. An early member of the Soil Conservation Service who retired after 30 years to become an ordained Methodist Minister in the Northwest Texas Conference.
He was cared for during these last years by the loving staff of Morningside Manor to whom the family gives thanks.
