

Ben is survived by his wife of 20 years, Michelle Wagner; son, Roman Wolfgang Wagner; daughter, Lauren Lauterbach Wagner; mother, Mary Lauterbach Wagner; father, Dr. Grant Hulse Wagner and wife Carol Wagner; siblings, Hulse Wagner and wife Sherri; Dottie Wagner and husband Mike Hutchins; Jean Wagner and husband Bernie Rosenblatt; and Jo Wagner and husband Stuart Ainsley plus numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and devoted life-long friends.
Ben received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and his Masters degree from Trinity University, after which he spent many years as a Northeast ISD school psychologist and more recently counseling residents at geriatric care centers. He had a special talent for connecting with the young and the old.
Ben was a devoted father and tiki enthusiast. He was happiest when he was playing at Cathedral Park; hiking and mountain biking near the family cabin in the Colorado Rockies; and canoeing Canadian rivers at Camp Wabun.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all those whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Ben's life will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Cathedral Park at the Bishop Jones Center, 111 Torcido Dr. San Antonio, TX 78209. This is an outdoor service, please wear appropriate shoes.
