Bennie Jo Martinez

Bennie Jo Martinez, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, age 42, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in San Antonio. She was born in Weslaco, Texas on April 8, 1975 to Pedro Carlos Martinez, Jr. and Mary Martinez (Aguilar).

Bennie was a Registered Nurse at SAMMC's MICU, as well as University Hospital. She loved to help others and was such a positive person. Her laugh and beautiful smile was infectious, which made it impossible to feel down around her. She was a great mother, very selfless and giving to her family and others. She enjoyed going to the Majestic Theatre to attend musicals such as "Cats" and, her favorite, "Wicked".

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Guillermina and Antonio Aguilar and Romualda G. and Pedro C. Martinez. Bennie is survived by her parents, Mary and Pedro Carlos Martinez Jr.; her husband of 23 years, Kevin Harrahill; her children (both U.S. Marines), Mary Jo Danielle (Dani) Martinez and Jonathan Troy Harrahill; her siblings, Melissa Marie Martinez, Pedro Carlos Martinez III, Melinda Ann Tompkins, Timothy Antonio Martinez, Thomas Antonio Martinez, Jose Robert Martinez; 13 nieces and nephews; 1 great-nephew and best friend, Drake White.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
