
Bernard Moses Brooks, Jr age 55 of Dallas, TX died Saturday, May 18, 2002 in Dallas. "Hap" was born June 13, 1945 in New Orleans, LA. and graduated from Texas Military Institute in San Antonio and the University of Texas at Austin. He was the Past Director of the San Antonio Advertising Club, the Southwest Council of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, and the Affiliated Advertising Agencies International and was honored with numerous Addy Awards. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Bexar County Family Services Association, the Good Government League of San Antonio, the USO Club of San Antonio, the San Antonio Chapter for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Bexar County Urban Coalition, the Alumni Board of the Texas Military Institute in San Antonio and was a Trustee of Temple Beth El in San Antonio. Mr. Brooks was honored with inclusion in the Documentary Film in the Library of Congress as co-writer/director of "The First Time" Implosion of the Elk's Club Building 1983, Fourth Edition of Who's Who in the World, Nineteenth Edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry. He was also honored with the Distinguished Service Award as Outstanding Young Man of San Antonio as presented by the San Antonio Jaycees in 1975 and the Top 100 Young Texan Award in 1976. Survivors: wife Sherry Engle Brooks; mother, Fanny K. Brooks; two sons, Bret M. Brooks of Minneapolis, MN and Bernard Moses Brooks, III and wife Angela; granddaughter Alexis Madison Brooks; and will be remembered by his brother-in-law, David Folder of Bulverde, TX
