Bernice M. Raney

Bernice M. Raney, age 88, went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2013. She was born on April 13, 1924 in Temple, TX. She attended Business School in Austin and was secretary to the Chief of Police in Austin. She retired after 20 years from USAA as Executive Secretary. She also was a long time member of MacArthur Park Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Raney was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. James G. Raney, SR., U.S. Army (ret.); parents, Bernard & Minnie Burson.

She is survived by her children, James G. Raney & wife Sybil of Austin, TX and Patricia Ann Raney; grandchildren, Ian Raney & Emma Raney; step grandchildren, David Broyles & Susannah Broyles; brother, Bernard Burson, Jr. & wife Mary of Austin, TX; niece, Bernice Evelyn Steward; nephew, Bernard Burson III.

Funeral Service will be 12 noon, Friday, March 29, 2013 at MacArthur Park Lutheran Church, 2903 Nacogdoches Rd., San Antonio, TX 78217. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Condolence may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com .
